Ubud Villa Kirana is arguably one of the most beautiful, fully-appointed four bedroom private rental villas in Bali. It overlooks the Ayung river gorge with breathtaking views of Bali's major volcano range and distant rice field terraces. Villa Kirana is fully staffed with private Balinese chef, Pak Oka who has been hosting guests at this very special rental villa from the date of opening.
Villa Kirana is located on the famous Sayan Ridge, Ubud, 500 meters south of the Four Seasons Ubud Hotel and about 10 minute drive to down town Ubud, 1 hour drive form the international airport.
As quoted by the architect Made Wijaya, "The design was inspired by Arne Hasselquist's "David Bowie House" in Mustique, on which I had worked with Linda Garland. It is a water garden with pavilions on a view. I added elements of the Malay house, the Balinese Balé and the Baronial guesthouses of the hill stations in Dutch colonial times. The house is very open, very transparent-the garden and scenic views are a treat as one moves around the detached palace.
The villa owners were very supportive of the idea of different atmospheres in each of the bedrooms, interspersed with tranquil and airy public areas. Morocco Berber rugs and lamps were imported to add color, and soften the predominantly stone and timber architecture.
Local sculptor Pintor Sirait worked on the suspended staircase and porte-cochere and Ubud-born artist Wayan Cemul carved all the bases of the stilt houses near the swimming pool. The compound houses an interesting collection of Indonesian ethnic art - both built in, as doors and windows, or as artwork accents-from Sumba, Nias, Kalimantan and North Sumatra, and a wide range of quality ikat textiles used in the soft furnishings."
Villa Kirana is located close to the cultural artist town of Ubud.

WITHOUT A DOUBT VILLA KIRANA WAS THE NICEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN IN OUR LIVES!
"
Not only was the physical set up so beautiful - it was very well maintained, and everything was of a very high standard. However, its the people that make the place. Right from dealing with you via email (always makes me a bit nervous) - your prompt and thorough responses were fabulous and gave me a high degree of comfort. Chef Oka was just so wonderful - the breakfasts were fabulous and the dinners he made for us were so wonderful. The food was fantastic! Everything we needed or even wanted, we got! We loved the manager (I feel badly, I can't remember her name) - she was so friendly and accommodating, as well as gracious. We loved Wayan as the driver - he showed us a wonderful time and was very good to us -- driving us to places he thought we would like -- and doing so in a such a friendly and professional manner. We also really appreciated his great restaurant suggestions in Ubud. We loved the place! My only comment would be for you to take new photos for your website! They really don't do the villa justice! It is so beautiful and in such a wonderful part of the world.

THIS HOME IS A MUST PLACE TO VISIT...
"
Our stay here has been one of the most enjoyable of all of our travels, the staff have been absolutely delightful and efficient, and chef Oka's meals are worthy of finest restaurants. Our boys were totally delighted with the pool and spent time investigating the lush yard. This home is a must do place to revisit if at all possible in the future.

Thank you Villa Kirana for providing us with such tranquil & beautiful surrounding. The food prepared by Pak Oka and staff was plentiful & delicious. All the staff were warm & friendly without being intrusive. We will return (It’s unforgettable, says Beatrice. C., Age 16, loved the food; A. ate too much food).
